The number of small and micro businesses that have access to a PC and conduct the business through its use is referred by the term ‘India small business PC installed’. According to the report of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and eStatsIndia.com, an yearly growth of 30% was observed with India small business PC installed. This constitutes for about 18% of the total market share.

The report found that the total number of PC/IAD use of internet among the small businesses was 2,836,667. The number of Small Business Internet Access Devices (IAD) base was found to be 12,523 with yearly growth of 40%. Internet was used by 3,649,715 small businesses in India. Among them 802,937 were internet buyers that account for 22% of small business internet users.

There had been a rise in ICT penetration among the small business firms for communication; facilitating the commercial activities; and promoting the products or services online. Online B2B marketing was observed by 40% of the MSMEs in India. PC, laptop and printers were mostly used in ICT penetration by small firms in India. However, the use of server software was found to be less with an average usage of 1 server software for every 20 B2B suppliers in India.

It was revealed that internet was used for communication by more than 99% of the B2B suppliers. About 99% of the B2B suppliers were involved in using internet for accessing online B2B marketplace. The third most common usage of internet among the B2B suppliers was the use of internet for running the own website that constituted for 73%. About 3.65 million units of the MSMEs were found to use ICT and internet among the total 13 million units of MSMEs.
