A poor citizen of Louisiana will have to give drug test and confirm positive result, if he has to apply for financial aid and food stamps from the government. This will be made legible as soon as the House Bill 137 proposed by the state representative John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie is agreed by the legislation.
What does the proposal of the bill actually mean? Isn’t the government willing to pay the needy families? Moreover, is the bill to avoid the aid? Or is it really to check the drug abuse in the state with this popular assistance program?
Whatever may be the intentions of the government, the needy are sure to get impacted with it. Applicants of the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs will have to give a drug test and qualify it. If they fail to qualify the drug test, they are denied off their benefits by the state government.
There are many organizations in the state, which say that state has no authority to regulate the federal funds.
