According to a report by business ISP, Easy net Connect, there is huge change in the outlook of business by SMEs. 51% (up from 35% in 2008) of them are planning to adopt cloud computing as they think that it will help them save money. 43% (up from 35% in 2008) believe that cloud computing will enable home working.

The below are the key findings of the survey:
53% of the SMEs are planning to switch to this technology in next five years. 66% of the larger companies have already started using cloud computing or planning to do so in next 12 months. Though using cloud, 81% still do not wish to increase their bandwidth. As much as 80% are using ADSL connections, which are not efficient enough to provide uploads to cloud. 30% of the companies in sales, marketing and media are already using cloud and 40% will do it in next 2 years. 70% of the London based SMEs plan to adopt cloud in 12 months, with 17% not even thinking of it. Only 19%(up from 13% in 2008) of SMEs are thinking of acquiring new bandwidth for cloud. At the end only 19% of them think that cloud is not secure enough and 9% believe it is not reliable.

Even the reports released by Easynet Connect also showed the same trend. 50%(up from 22% in 2008 end) of SMEs are planning to implement cloud in next 12 months. 73% (up from 47%% in 2008 end) planning to implement in next 5 years. Only 27% (down from 53% in 2008)of them saying that they will never go for cloud computing.
