SMBs increased their social media adoption for various purposes in US. SMBs are also increasing social media adoption due to increased realization of the importance of the social media. According to a recent survey conducted by the SMB Group, small and medium businesses in the US are using social media for many purposes but have no proper allocation of budget for social media marketing. Almost half of the respondents said that they have made social media as part of their operations.
According to the SMB Group, getting involved in social media for only specific purposes have very few barriers and hence is an easy way to do business. As most of the SMBs are using social sites on an ad-basis, they have no formal plan or budget. Medium sized companies, though have a defined plan for social media.
Many of the small business are turning to the social media for their business purposes. About 44% of small businesses and 52% of midsize businesses already made social media as a part of their operations. Another 25% of small businesses and 22% of midsize businesses cited that they are planning to adopt social media with in next 12 months.
