“Love and peace of mind do protect us. They allow us to overcome the problems that life hands us. They teach us to survive, to live now and to have the courage to confront each day.” —Bernie Siegel

The feeling of being lost in stressful situations is not new to anyone these days. Every now and then, we are facing stressful situations in various aspects of life like dealing with bosses, dealing with jobs, dealing with family problems and whatnot.

Our heads have become the beans of the garbage in which garbage items are stress, fear, anxiety and sense of isolation. We are always scared without any reason because we have lost our sense of self.

Everyone thinks that nothing is controllable in this changing world, and one cannot change the situations around them. It is a big lie that tells ourselves every day as we have the power to alter our surroundings internally.

Unfreeze The Mind
Do you remember your childhood in which sometimes you would hide somewhere and no one was aware of you? You need that hide-out right now. No, not to hide from the world! You need to hide so that you have some time for yourself and do some introspection in a peaceful atmosphere without being disturbed. Introspect yourself after knowing what is going on in your head. When you look at life and then think about your life and problems. You will get the idea about the problems of your life that your problems are so insignificant in front of the whole universe.

Focus On An Object
Just pick-out any object from your house and try to focus on it for a while. You can use any of the fingers, most preferably an index finger. Just let your mind and body focus on the finger or the object. Try to washout all stressful thoughts from your head while focusing on that object.

Short Enjoyable Breaks
Sometimes, it is good to have a conscious break from your mundane life which is haunting you every day.  Find something enjoyable to do for 30 mins to 90 minutes every day so that your mind totally relaxes. Such breaks help you face work and life situations with a fresh mind.

Gardening
Gardening is a cool way to de-stress yourself.  As you care for your garden, which requires your attention almost daily.  It forces you to form a good habit that de-stresses and brings peace to your life. The greenery, the water and the various decorations in the garden help to improve your quality of life. You don’t even need a backyard or a front lawn.  Your apartment balcony is good enough to get started with container gardening. Even if you don’t have a balcony, it does not matter – you can still do container gardening in one corner of any room.  Irrespective of which option you choose or is available, gardening is a great choice for stress relief.

Travel
A small travel plan can do wonders for your stressful life. Travel to a peaceful place like a mountainous region or do some forest trekking. A few days of travel rejuvenates the mind and makes you ready to face life with freshness and energy.

Deep Breathing
If you want some instant solution, then try deep breathing exercises for a few minutes. Deep breathing helps to take control of your mind and get rid of unwanted anxious thoughts that you were having problems with. Deep breathing is a great remedy for a stressful situation. Not only that, it is easy to do and you don’t spend anything or buy any special equipment for doing deep breathing.

Small Things
Sometimes you ignore various small reasons for your happiness like time with someone special or a sip of tea with yourself in the morning. Do such small things with enthusiasm and see the change in your life and state of your mind.

Peace of mind does not come to you automatically; you need to actively pursue it. This is the most important thing in the world for you to have. Most of the time you spend on to collect those materialistic things to be happy, but they are not worthy of your worries or happiness. Happiness and peace of mind come from within.
